Hunting Tests evaluate a dog's hunting abilities on different elements of retrieving and deliver-to-hand. The dog's ability to perform is judged against a standard of perfection established by the AKC and Labrador Retriever Club regulations.

WC (Working Certificate): The Labrador Retriever Club requirements for the WC are designed to test a dog's natural abilities such as marking ability, memory of fall, intelligence, desire, style, perseverance, nose and courage. The WC test consists of one bird on land, two birds on water. Solo, Rocky, Kate, Moon and Tug have achieved their WC titles!

JH (Junior Hunter): A Junior Hunter must show a keen desire to hunt, be bold and independent, have a fast, yet attractive manner of hunting, and demonstrate not only intelligence in seeking objectives, but also the ability to find game. For this AKC title, dogs must receive qualifying scores in four licensed or member tests, each consisting of two birds on land and two birds on water. Solo, Rocky, and Kate have achieved their JH titles!

NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Association) The NAHRA concept is based solely on simulating real hunting situations, both upland hunting and waterfowling. Tests are designed to simulate a day's hunt in the field. The purpose is not to confront the dog with trick problems, but rather to test the dog's natural ability and acquired training.

Dock Jumping or Dock Diving is a dog sport in which dogs compete by jumping for distance or height from a dock into a body of water.

AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) is a program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

AKC Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course that has been designed by the rally judge. The judge tells the handler to begin, and the dog and handler proceed at their own pace (not timed) through a course of 10 - 20 designated stations, depending on the level. The owner is allowed to verbally encourage the dog to perform well.
