Sweet Home
Kenya Labradors is located in gorgeous Santa Margarita,
on the California Central Coast. With a lifetime of dedication and love to
animals, including breeding and showing Arabian horses, we feel honored to
specialize in the highest quality Chocolate Labrador Retrievers.
I breed Chocolate Labs for one thing only: the best possible
all-around companion who exemplifies the ideal characteristics of the breed,
which not only conforms to the AKC standards, but also results in a dog extremely
well balanced in temperament, a pleasure to train and a beauty to behold.
For show, hunting, agility and home companions— Kenya Labradors'
puppies have the breeding to become the dog of your dreams!
I
invite you to come and experience these remarkable English-type Chocolate Labs
for yourself!
STANDARD OF QUALITY & CARE ~
Because of my commitment to humane values and stringent standards of breeding,
I keep only a small number of dogs to show and breed. This allows
them to live and play on expansive grassy meadows and swim in their own pond:
never in enclosed or impersonal kennels. In addition to this idyllic outdoor
life, my dogs sleep inside our home. It is really something
to see them cuddle together, forming one massive 'Chocolate Labrador' rug!
These dogs are not just my hobby and
profession; they are also my dear friends. I am as devoted to them as they
are to me. Together, we train and participate in many competitions, including
obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. Plus, we are proud winners
of the AKC's Canine Good Citizen® awards.
~ I breed to the best, so you can have the best. ~

E-mail for a phone appointment — I
am often outside with the dogs and catching phone calls can be quite a challenge.
I'm sure you'll agree that establishing our first contact by email allows
us to set an appointment wherein I can give you my fullest attention. I
appreciate your understanding.
Sorry, absolutely no shipping.
Kenya Labradors does not participate in cross-breeding Chocolate Labrador
Retrievers with other breeds to make designer dogs.
If I didn't have SO many dogs...
I could walk around my yard barefooted.
My house could be carpeted, instead of tiled and laminated.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.
When the doorbell rang, it wouldn't sound like barking.
When the doorbell rang, I could get to the door without wading through
fuzzy bodies racing to get there before me.
I could sit on the couch
the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space
several fur bodies need to be comfortable.
I would not place strange
presents under my Christmas tree: dog bones, dog toys, nor would I
have to explain to anyone why I wrap them.
I would not be friends with every veterinarian and pet store in my area.
The most used words in my
vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave
him/her/it ALONE.
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with
baby gates or barriers.
My pockets would not contain things like poop
bags, treats and an extra leash.
I would not have to spell the words
B-A-L-L-, F-R-I-S-B-E-E, or W-A-L-K.
I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog ties them
down too much.
I'd look forward to seasonal rainstorms instead of dreading
mud season.
And truly, I would never get to answer the question, "Why
do you have so many dogs?" from people who will never know
the joy of sharing SO much unconditional love with creatures who are
as close to angels as we will ever meet.
